ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY

ADMINISTRATION/SUPERINTENDENT'S OFFICE:

  • PUBLIC INFORMATION SPECIALIST:

Summary of Function: Using various media resources, serve as district liaison to communicate to the public the mission of FUSD, the many programs and services offered, accomplishments of staff and students, and prepare/distribute various informational documents.

Performance Responsibilities: 1. Act as a resource to public inquiries; refer to appropriate administrators when necessary 2. Plan, prepare and monitor the publication of various informational documents such as welcome brochures, voter information pamphlets and district newsletters 3. Represent the school district as official press contact. 4. Engage with the community in a proactive manner about the many excellent programs and services offered by the district. 5. Assist the Superintendent and Governing Board to inform the public by preparing statements for release to news media and other community organizations. 6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 1.Previous experience in media and public relations, including journalism or other communication related fields. 2. Computer literate with proficiency in word processing and desk top publishing. 3. Ability to design, update and maintain web based information. 4. Ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds. 5. Excellent writing and speaking skills. 6. .Ability to comprehend and communicate the mission of the school district.

Other Details: This is a temporary, part-time, non-benefited position. 20 hours per week, $25.00 per hour. Desired start date: February 8, 2010

  • HOMEBOUND TEACHER: Rate of pay: $15.00/hr; Certification Required: Current Arizona Teacher or Substitute Teacher certification; Qualifications: Must be able to collaborate with school staff, families and outside agencies.
